So, I was listening to my ipod last night when I should have been sleeping and came across a song and BAM! Inspiration for a carby vid. I take this as a good sign for my hopeful venture back into the world of fanfic. But, does anyone know where I can get really good carby vid clips? I've found a few on YouTube, but most are in fairly poor condition. Any thoughts?
Aw, Carby! It's been so long...it was just a random hope that I would find a page on LJ dedicated to all that is good and Carby. Is anyone still around and posting? I'd love to talk to some old shippers, as well as new ones! Back in the day, I usually went by starbuckmeggie--don't know if that rings any bells with anyone, but feel free to drop me a line!
Jenn if you can read this, please go on the ENOM accnt and point coffeeandpie.com to the blue host servers. For some reason they decided it would be fun if they didnt any more.
SO I was in the middle of a heartfelt mass email to be sent to all past and present CoffeeandPier's and true to form, the server went down, apparently it hadnt been used to so much traffic! LOL!
They tell me it should be up and running soon, in the meantime, please feel free to use this venue for our finale talk.
The Finale Special will begin at 8pm ET
T- 10 minutes.
Everyone please make sure you update your links again. CoffeeandPie.com is up and running and that is the url you should use to access the board, otherwise you'll have cookie issues.
Refresh and log on to coffeeandpie.com/phpBB3 and all should be well again.
ALSO, please make sure to update the email address in your profile to one that you will actually check, (you don't have to make it visible.) we will only contact you in case of emergencies.
Here's the deal. I bought a new domain name.
CoffeeandPie.com is now CarbyBoard.com
To access the board directly you can go to http://www.carbyboard.com/phpBB3/
This is only a temporary fix. Our account with our host is set to expire in 23 days. I was told we would have it for 2 years, but what do I know. So please go and save as much info as you need. Save the videos, the links, the important stuff.
I would appreciate it if you guys could release this information to as many carbies as you can.
Hopefully this will help a little...
Just wanted to drop everyone a note letting you know I'll be working on "The Big Upgrade" again. So the site is down. I'll try to make it quick but I'm not sure how long it'll be. The board has to be down otherwise any posts you guys make after i start the update will be lost. And the point of this whole mess is to save it all.
If by Monday we're still down. I'll open the board again and continue at some other time.
In the meantime, here's the link for the chatroom ;)
I also have the latest episode on the server so let me know if you wanna download it and I'll send you the link.
In case you haven't been checking the Announcements thread on the board, I wanted to let you know that we are about to undergo a major update.
phpBB is coming up with version 3.0. Right now we are running phpBB 2.0.22. Because they need to make sure everything is in working order (as they are writing this script from scratch and they need to test it under all sorts of conditions to make sure it works), the phpBB people have had several Beta releases and after that, what they called Release Candidates (RC).
Every RC coming out is better and has lots of bug fixes, but it is still not perfect. Since these are still not the final thing, they can't offer any guarantees. That's why we're still waiting to do the update. There have been 5 Beta versions and 6 RC's so far.
They still haven't released a stable final version, but the date is getting close, so I wanted to install the current Release Candidate (a version a little bugged) so you can register, open threads and find out what phpBB3 can do. The User Control Panel is pretty neat. We also have the ability to upload files to the C&P server and attach it to a post (all directly from the board).
All these threads and posts will be deleted once we update. All our current database tables will be moved to the new board, so we wont loose posts or personal information.
Let me know what you think
This morning due to a server issue C&P went down.
I yelled at them a little and they fixed it. YEAY.
It is now up and running again. Enjoy!
GO AND REVEL IN THE CARBINESS.
Coffee and pie is open for business.
Same thing happened last year. I'm sorry but I have no control over it. The elder mods opened the "CoffeeandPie" name using a different company than the one that hosts our files. And they are the ones getting the warnings and reminders.
Like last year, Ill try to hunt some people down and just try to transfer this thing to my name.
My apologies for the Carby deprivation!
Carby Weekly News
Wedesday, October 5, 2005
We’re back again with more Carby news for you! Last week we were treated to an episode of ER that was a little brisker, a little more action-packed, and an overall improvement on the season premiere. (At least, that seemed to be the consensus on the episode discussion thread.) We giggled at our favorite R2s giving the new interns some conflicting advice, we saw a lot more of Maura, and Ray touched our hearts as he watched over a newborn baby. Keep this momentum going, TPTB, and we’ll stick with you through these episodes without our beloved Carter…as long as he’s not gone for too long! Early Fall is such a fun time for TV viewers. We’re still at the “all new” stage of the season, when we’re treated to brand new episodes of our favorite shows each week. It’s great to have some of our questions from last season answered, while at the same time watching new plots unfold. Happy viewing, everyone! :D
RATINGS AND TV NEWS by DDF
* ER was #14 last week. Up from #19 the week before. Although the number of viewers were down slightly at 14,441,000.
* NBC seems to be having trouble already and is making some changes. E-Ring and Martha's Apprentice switch time slots on Wednesdays starting this week.
* Inconcievable is dying a fast death. Less than 5 million viewers watched it. Count on it being cancelled before too long.
* The only good news for NBC is My Name is Earl will be around all season.
* Baseball playoffs are here! Talk about it in the Sports thread and or TV thread.
* CBS and ABC are still doing well ratings wise.

SONG OF THE WEEK by Kess and Ella
We thought we'd go with a classic this week: "Amsterdam", by Coldplay. (P.S., Chris, yes, of course I'll run away with you to the Cayman Islands! What Gwyneth doesn't know won't hurt her, eh?) This particular track, as some of you may know, is one of the many seemingly timeless Coldplay songs; it never seems to get old. Slow and mournful at first, just Chris and his piano (OTP!) then exploding into the sudden-but-fitting drums and guitars we all know and love from A Rush of Blood to the Head and Fix You, this song is one of my favorites ever by Coldplay and shouldn't be excluded from your Carby playlist -- in the unlikely event that it's not already a part of it. 9/10. --Kess [url=http://www.coffeeandpie.com/music/C
REVIEW OF THE WEEK by Chris
Disclaimer: The following reviews reflect the personal opinion of the author (a.k.a. me) and are consequently not a representation of “the truth”. Furthermore, as I’m only doing this for fun, possible offending or false statements are completely unintentional (in other words, don’t kill me if I say something stupid). Website of the week: I’m feeling lazy today, so this week’s review will be fairly short. Oooh, a Swedish speaking guy on TV. Reminds me of today’s Swedish lesson. *yawn* He’s talking about sperm. Iiiinteresting… :eb: This week, I’ll divert somewhat from the previously reviewed ER websites and focus on a website which is useful to all people. Most of us have heard about it. In fact I’m thinking most of us have one ourselves, or at the least something similar. If you haven’t guessed it already, I’m of course talking about www.livejournal.com. For the unenlightened, LiveJournal (a.k.a. LJ) is a weblog (blog), i.e. an online journal/diary of sorts. Personally, I have never been one to keep a diary, but after getting an LJ, I discovered how nice it is to have a place where you can talk about some of the things that you usually only keep to yourself. There is no emo only rule, though. Basically you can write about anything from the greatness that is Carby to how awfully unfair it is that you got a D in science. Or you can choose to write random crap about how your favorite pig just got a new haircut. In other words, WRITE WRITE WRITE!! Or you can do memes. Which is cool. Well except the really long memes like the one Jodi recently decided to spring upon us all. Those are memes where you think “oh, let me do this, it’ll be fun,” but where you almost give up halfway through and only finish the damn thing, because you just spent an hour of your life doing the first half, and so not doing the other half would be even more idiotic. The choices you have to make… ::sigh:: Some memes are tagging memes (other people tag you, so you supposedly have to do the meme as well) which in my opinion are even worse, because you almost feel obligated to do them when you discover the coolness that is your username in someone else’s post. ::double sigh:: The writing part of the LJ experience is of course the main part. HOWEVER, there are a number of other little nifty features out there. First of all, there is the whole Friends part. The concept of this is that you can read other’s journals on your friends page, and they can read yours if they added you as their friends (unless of course you choose your journal to be Friends Only in which case you have to add said people back as friends in order for them to read it). So basically, it’s like High School. :look: Communities are another nifty feature. Say you like Carby ( ;) ) and you want to share your interest with others. Go make a community, or join an existing one. It works almost like your Friends pages, which means that every time someone posts something in the community (like for example “Hi! Don’t you guys just get the fuzzies everytime you watch Carter and Abby dance in TWBD?”), you’ll see it on your Friends page. In terms of building your LJ, there are easy as well as difficult ways. If you just want to write and don’t care about how your LJ looks, then it’s fairly easy to make a custom one. However, if you want to make your LJ a little more personal (with links and images and stuff), then you have to ask someone else and not me. After consulting the Override Gods I made a somewhat decent attempt at a layout, which I’ve never dared to touch ever since, but if you want a really pretty layout, you have to be either talented, into web page making, both, or as a last resort willing to beg someone who is to make it for you. ;) Speaking of layouts, another central part of th LJ experience is the art of icons. If you get a free account, you get the option of uploading three icons. However, for the icon whores (and there are many), three is not nearly enough. Thus, they jump at the chance of getting a paid account which depending on how much you’re willing to pay, allows you to upload more icons, up to as much as 100. A paid account gives you other privileges as well, but since I’ve never had one, I can’t tell you what they are. So this whole thing ended up as a novel afterall, and since I’m really tired now, I’ll finish off with my conclusion, namely that LJ iz da best! ::nods:: Oh, and whether you plan on getting an LJ or not, it is THE place to go for board emergencies (unless of course you prefer getting lost and yelling in the Darwinis chatroom ;)). Therefore, in case the board goes down, keep yourself updated on C&P’s LJ: http://www.livejournal.com/community/cof
GETTING TO KNOW YOU by JD
Ella (luna nuova) was born on August 27 in central Virginia. Ella is, in fact, not her real name; if she likes you, she says you can ask her and she just might tell you. She stands just above 5 feet two inches short with extremely curly brown hair and what she calls schizophrenic eyes. That is, they change from brown to green to hazel depending on their mood. She speaks French nearly fluently, some Italian, and (as of just a week ago) some Old English as well. She has neither a favorite book nor a favorite movie, but more a list of ten or fifteen of both. Topping the book list most recently is My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult, and her favorite movies include Casablanca and La Vita è Bella. Her most treasured possessions include (but are not limited to) her violin, her X-Files DVDs, her iPod Wallace and her green corduroy pants. A full-time student and overachiever, Ella also enjoys being a self-proclaimed bookworm, playing the violin, and obsessing over the state of her playlist. Her alcoholic beverage of choice would most likely be rum and coke, although not being legal, she wouldn't know... In the not-so-distant future, she would like to go into either pathology or a sub-specialty of pediatrics. She would also consider a career in Grammar Nazi-ing and/or as the Supreme Queen of the Universe. (Please let her know when these positions become available). If she could be anyone else for a day, she would just be herself - but with more superpowers. Because why mess with a good thing? (This week's interview was brought to you by Ella.)

Way to go. Build an LJ in case CoffeeandPie goes offline... and host the layout images at coffeeandpie.
I'm hosting the images in another server now.
Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to Coffee and Pie's new journal.
This will be the place to go for up to date info on the board. Any down times, special events, and general news will be announced here. The same rules of respect and niceness will be observed here as on the board. Please feel free to comment, generally fraternize and squeee all you'd like. ;)
This journal is a SPOILER FREE venue.
It's so prettyful if I may say so myself. I think I'm gonna change the background though. Butterflies are beautiful but they're just not practical when you do boxes... And let's all pretend the banner is any good... I need some time to work on that...
eta: Oh, oH... I can't see mood or music?!
eta2: Fixed! Man I'm good. :look: hee! Only now I have two ugly links I didn't want on my entries box... :sigh:
eta3: WHOA!!!! I made the menu box dissapear!! Cool.
